Dear PECO Customers:
We are contacting you about an ongoing project occurring in Pennsbury, Kennett, and East Marlborough Townships that will enhance the local electric distribution system. This project is a $14.1 million infrastructure investment in your area to help withstand more frequent and damaging storms, improve reliability by reducing the frequency of outages that cannot be prevented, and support the adoption of cleaner energy resources such as solar and electric vehicles.
About the project:
- We will replace all wires, cables, poles, devices, and transformers on the circuits associated with the Hamorton Sub Station, which will be retired following this work.
- Advanced devices will be installed that can stop the flow of electricity if a problem occurs and automatically restore electricity where possible.
What you’ll see during this project:
- Work will occur along Baltimore Pike, Greenwood Rd, Millers Hill Rd, Cope Rd, Fairville Rd, Kennett Pike, Hickory Hill Rd, Maple Lane, Cossart Rd, Ashford Dr, Red Oak Ln, Stockford Rd, Spruce Ln, Kenview Ave, Penn Ave, Richard’s Rd, E Cypress St, Deer Pond Ln, Greenwood Rd, Creek Rd, S Young Ave, Independence Way, Hillingham Circle, Stockford Rd, Wilmington Pike, Maple Lane, Bayard Rd, Byron Ct, N Walnut St, Chadds Ford Dr, Creamery Ln, W Pennsburry Way, Old Baltimore Pike, Constitution Dr, E Baltimore Pike, Deer Pond Ln, Hamorton Cuttoff Rd, Beech Lane, Ashford Ln, Anvil Dr, Orchard Ave, McFadden Rd, and Brinton Bridge Rd.
- All work will be performed by PECO crews and qualified PECO contractors.
- We have developed a plan to minimize direct customer impact as much as possible and to complete the project in a safe and timely manner.
- Work on electrical equipment, including poles and wires, is scheduled to start in February 2025. The project is expected to be completed in December 2025.
- Crews may need to temporarily interrupt electric service to safely complete some of this work. We will work with customers to ensure they are informed in advance of our activities and any planned interruptions.
