BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Chairman Cuyler H. Walker called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Building with the pledge to the flag. Board members Richard P.S. Hannum, Robert F. Weer, Eddie G. Caudill, and Richard E. Hicks were also present, as was Solicitor Frone Crawford, Jr., and Township Engineer Jim Hatfield.
Minutes of September 6, 2005. By unanimous vote (4-0, with Mr. Hannum abstaining because he was not at the meeting), the minutes were approved.
Minutes of September 20, 2005. By unanimous vote (3-0, with Messrs. Hannum and Walker abstaining), the minutes were approved.
Public Comment Period. There were no comments from the public.
Bruster’s Conditional Use. No application received; no action taken.
Beiler-Campbell Final Plan for Offices and Retail or Restaurant. P.J. Close of Kelly Engineers represented the applicant. There was discussion about the sight distance from the Bayard Road exit to the north. The Supervisors asked that Mr. Close work with our traffic engineer, John Hendricks of Traffic Planning and Design, to provide for the best sight distance onto Bayard Road. Additionally, we need daily traffic counts to determine the traffic impact fee. No further action taken on the plan.
Walnut Ridge. Art Bernardon summarized the details of the sketch plan for 68 tonwhouses on the west side of Walnut Road, in the L.I. District. The land is currently being used in part by Harvest Fresh Mushrooms. Applicant will file a conditional use application.
Pathways at Traditions. Mr. & Mrs. Alan Dinning represented the Homeowners Association in the request to have the developer convert the partially constructed wood chip pathways to grass, with trail markers. The Board decided to put the item on the agenda for the November 7, 2005 Board meeting, in the hope of getting more input from the residents.
UHS Homecoming Parade Route. The township received notice that the parade committee has decided to shorten the route, commencing at the Unionville Elementary School and ending at Unionville High School.
Bills. By unanimous vote (5-0), the attached list of invoices was approved for payment, with each supervisor abstaining on any invoice with a perceived conflict of interest.
Treasurer’s Report. By unanimous vote (5-0), the attached report was accepted.
Salt Bids. By unanimous vote (5-0), the bid from International Salt was accepted, with a per ton bid price of $53.94.
